About the role
16 hours per week based in Balclutha, South Otago
6-month fixed term employment contract with potential to extend
Deliver therapeutic interventions and holistic support to families with children aged 0 to 18 years who have experienced significant family violence.
Empowers clients with the knowledge and confidence to address family violence and supports long-term wellbeing through resilience and healthy relationships
Salary range $68,839 - $78,675 pa. (pro-rated to hours worked) commensurate with skills and experience
About you
A relevant tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology that meets the requirements for NZAC, ANZASW, or NZPB registration is essential
Proven experience in therapeutic support with individuals, whānau, and relationships, using trauma-informed approaches and a deep understanding of family violence dynamics and their impact, especially on children.
Culturally responsive practice, able to deliver accessible services to diverse communities including Māori, Pacifika, and Rainbow groups, with strong skills in assessment, goal setting, and case management.
Sound knowledge of family violence prevention, relevant legislation, and agency protocols, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
An understanding of Care and Protection principles and the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989
Sound computer and database skills
